Split Brim Tudor- to order
A sixteenth century cap in heavily fulled hand-knitted pure wool, based on surviving examples and featuring split overlapping brims and an additional brim layer which tucks inside to thicken and stabilise the brim. The surface is nap raised and brushed to produce a sleek finish.
These take rather longer to knit than the plain Tudor flat caps, so please bear with me. More or less any shade you like available, black and red are always classic, but if you'd like something different just let me know. Typical crown width is about 11 inches unless you specify otherwise.
The cream bonnet shown has one brim made so it sits behind the neck neatly, I can also knit the single brim to flare like the brim in the split version, your choice!
Made to order. The way our order book is currently working, we open the shop approximately once a quarter for new commissions and shut it again once we have as many orders as we think we can realistically make over the next three months or so. Please be aware that your order may fall anywhere into that timescale. We'll always aim to be as prompt as we can.
