Forage Cap -to order
A hand-knitted and fulled Forage Cap with a contrasting band and toorie that can be colour matched to regimental shades. Perfect for wearing in camp in the evenings and adaptable to a variety of wearing styles. Shown above in blue-black with red, yellow or off-white band and toorie, but any other shades you may require are also available. Navy is also a popular base colour choice.
Typical sizing is approx 10.5inches/27cm across the crown, with the coloured band 4.75cm deep (though as with any hand-knitted and fulled item slight variations may occur between batches), I am happy to modify these measurements to suit individual requirements. This version is closely based on a surviving example in the Duke of Wellington's Regimental Museum.
Supplied unlined, or I can add a half lining in unbleached linen secured with ten rows of hand stitching for an additional £13, or a 3/4 lining (band as shown plus a 'donut' of linen extending into the crown) for £15. Please choose the add on lining option if required. Toorie to match band unless requested otherwise.
Made to order. The way our order book is currently working, we open the shop approximately once a quarter for new commissions and shut it again once we have as many orders as we think we can realistically make over the next three months or so. Please be aware that your order may fall anywhere into that timescale. We'll always aim to be as prompt as we can.
